This is a brief view of Alma Jr. and Kurt's wedding and the father, daughter dance.
I borrowed the characters from Anni, no disrespect meant to her or the actors portraying the characters of BBM.
Everyone familiar with the story is aware Jack is no longer alive at this stage. But my imagination allows him to talk to Ennis and reveal to him some occurrences still to come in the future.
" Daughter of Mine"
These are the thoughts of a father
On the wedding day of his daughter
As his mind wanders back to the
first time he held her
He looks at her now, the same pride in his eyes
As onto the dance floor they glide
This is the dance of the bride and the father
Dance with me daughter of mine
On this you wedding day
Dance with me daughter of mine
You'll soon be going away
I love you so, since you first began
Now you found a new man
But I love you so, and this you must know
That my love won't falter
So dance with me daughter
Beautiful daughter of mine.
We walk down the aisle
On my face there's a smile
But deep in my heart there's a tear
Our friends and relations
are there in the church
With smiles on their faces they stare
As we walk t'ward the man
who has stolen your heart
And to whom I must give you away
But I wish you love and happiness too
On this your wedding day
The dance has begun
We twirl around the floor
But I know you're not my little girl any more
A lovely young woman has taken her place
And there's happiness written all over her face
But always remember although we must part
You may leave my arms, but never my heart
( Continues at the Reception )
"She is beautiful, Cowboy."
"Thank you Jack, I think so too!!"
"Jack???!!!"
"Damn, someone must have spiked the punch"
( Later Down the Road )
"Is it time, Jack?" "Not yet, Cowboy, but soon."
"Will I ...will I be able to....?" "Hold your first Grandson?
"Yes Ennis, Lizzy is going to have a little brother.
It's wonderful don't you think?
Junior and Kurt with two girls of their own.
And Bobby and Francine combining
the Del Mar and Twist blood.
Never would have dreamed it."
"Jack? I love you, always have, you do know that now, don't you?"
"I do, Ennis, I always known, we'll be together soon , Babe.
until then tell little Ennis Jack how much his two grandpas love him."
"I miss you so much, Jack."
"Me too, Ennis, soon Babe, I will bring us home soon."
