Forget-me-not Memorial Day torry28

Fort Rosecrans Cemetery San Diego California

                                  Forget-me-not
                     When you're lost in thought
As you make it through your day

                                  Forget-me-not
                            I am one who fought
And was scarred along the way

                                 Forget-me-not
                       For the freedom bought
With the lives one can't repay

                               Forget-me-not
                     When your child is taught
                      To remember yesterday

                               Forget-me-not
                          When the day is hot
And you bend your knees to pray

                               Forget-me-not
                          Yes I heard the shot
But I did not run away

                               Forget-me-not
                                I 'm a patriot
                        Remember me today

                            Author unknown

God bless the men and woman who gave their life's for us
and protect the once still keeping it safe.

Thank you, Torry. What a lovely poem. I wish more people would remember those we lost. I know in Arlington they honor the fallen by putting flags on every grave.

I want those serving to know their sacrifice is very much appreciated. And that we remember those who gave their lives.

Hugs

Thank you for this. We must never forget those who paid the ultimate price, fighting for our freedoms.
